Hi! I’m Kristina Rodriguez and I am an illustrator from Miami, Florida where my parents emigrated from Cuba and Paraguay.  I have a BFA in painting and sculpture from Florida International University, but my first love has always been drawing.  Since I was six years old, I have always been happiest creating my own characters and losing myself in the worlds and stories I built around them.

I work mostly digitally.  But I still enjoy the tactile feeling of brushes and paints and colored pencils and am always looking for ways to include traditional techniques and mediums in my projects.  I love color, line, light, and mood; and am inspired by traditional classical painting, expressionism, surrealism, mid-century graphic design, and folk art.  One of my favorite parts of any project is the research phase where I can delve deep into the essence of a person, place, or subject.  Ultimately, I am always working toward creating a compelling image.

I live and work from my home studio in Miami with my partner Clyde; and I enjoy traveling, being in nature, biking, yoga, meditation, vintage items, photography, dancing, desserts, coffee, tea, music, cats, and reading.  Sadly, I currently have no cats—but I feel certain that situation will be resolved in the near future.

My work has been exhibited at Wolfsonian/FIU, MOCA, and the Scope International Art Fair; and I have collaborated on multiple occasions with the New World Symphony.  I’m always looking for the next great project!  If you would like to work together, please contact Anne Moore Armstrong at The Bright Agency.  I look forward to working with you!
